Anybody have trouble editing HD video from your hd camcorder?

I’m trying to decide what kind of camcorder to buy. I’d really like to get a high definition cam, but i read alot of reviews of people saying “no editing software supports editing hd video”.

How is your experience? Have you been able to edit HD successfully or is this damn near impossible to do at this time?
